Cable has sworn to protect baby Hope Summers, the child of X Men Leader Scott Summers ( Cyclops) and Jean Grey ( Marvel Girl) as he and the child are pursued through time and space by Lucas Bishop; a Man who believes Hope to be the harbinger of a Future mutant Holocaust. Bishop will stop at nothing to end her Life and will let nothing stand in his way. Cable, however, has never been one to give up without a fight!

Left on his own to care for a helpless infant, changing diapers and preparing baby bottles in between gunfights, Cable thinks to himself:"I've been a Soldier all my Life. I've been trained for everything...except this."
